It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a Gracie update, and wow has a lot happened. Gracie is doing very well and continues to be more and more at home. The biggest news is that Gracie now sleeps in the bed with me!!! It’s nice not worrying about her on the floor. She climbs up using a set of foam steps that I purchased for her several months ago and it’s nice to know that it was not a wasted purchase. It’s actually really cute as she uses the steps to go up and down from the bed. The only negative is that she now takes up my side of the bed, so I’ve had to move to the other side. LMAO!!!
The other nice thing is that she also climbs on the bed to play, another plus. I put a few cameras in the house and I’ve discovered the bed is actually her favorite place to sleep when I’m not home. And wow, she sleeps almost all day. Shocking for a cat, I know. Her other favorite is the couch in my living room. I have also put steps there and the she uses them to get on and off the couch. This is our next big hurdle as she only tends to be on the couch during the day and will not come up when I’m on the couch. The good news is that she will climb up while I’m in the room and we’ve even sat on opposite sides, but we haven’t yet played or relaxed together there.
The only negative is that she has developed a lot of fur knots. She has definitely put on weight and I’m thinking that is the cause. We will be going to the vet to discuss this, but in the mean time, I have put her on a bit of a diet. When she came home with me she only weighed 8 pounds and my guess is she is at least 10 now, which is a big percentage jump.
The last news is that her Instagram, much to my surprise, has really taken off. At the time of this writing she is at 988 followers and I’m pretty sure she will be over 1000 by the end of the year. Crazy.
